The Web site of the California State Library, Sacramento, at http://www.library.ca.gov/ has links to both online catalogs. You can also go directly to MELVYL at telnet://melvyl.ucop.edu or http://www.melvyl.ucop.edu/ . Limit your search on MELVYL to holdings of both the Sacramento and Sutro branches of the California State Library by selecting Calif. State Libraries in the "Location box". You cannot limit the search to just one branch.
Other area libraries also have genealogical resources such as the California Room at the Monterey Public Library or local history at the Santa Cruz Public Library http://www.santacruzpl.org/
SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. It is the applicants responsibility to prepare an acceptable application. There are several excellent computer programs available to simplify this task. These programs make it much easier to prepare neat, correct applications and to edit them if changes are necessary. They also simplify adapting an application to a new ancestor for a supplementary application. For more information visit the National SAR website membership page.. Specific information about the various programs can be found there at Application Software Programs..
